Laramie Educational Afterschool Facility (LEAF)

• Provides a safe, supervised space where kids are encouraged to learn, play, and socialize in the after-school hours.

• The program offers a variety of activities, including arts and science projects, organized gym games, physical activities such as ice skating and swimming, and also provides a healthy snack each day.

• Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 3:00-5:30pm, on all days that ACSD #1 is in session. Students from Laramie elementary schools are bused by ACSD Transportation to the Laramie Community Recreation Center, 920 Boulder Drive. Maximum enrollment is 36 children.

• $333. Unless you'd like to be considered for reduced fees,

• Serves children in kindergarten through third grade.

• Operates daily from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM when the public schools are in session.

• Staffed by a lead teacher with a degree in elementary/early childhood education, and assistant teachers who hold associate degrees or equivalent training and experience.

• Afternoon snack is provided.

• Activities include games, outdoor play, field trips, walks, reading both individually and in groups, and finishing homework if needed.

• Serves children in kindergarten through sixth grade.

• Offers before-school and after-school care.

• Provides transportation to and from area elementary schools.

• Offers hot breakfast in the mornings before school, and a healthy snack after school.

• Includes homework assistance after the school day ends.

• Engages children in fun, planned educational learning centers to supplement school learning and to keep both bodies and minds active.

• Activities include games, reading, creative arts, practicing social & problem-solving skills.

• Serves Kindergarten–6th grade and preschool students.

• Hours of operation:

  • K–6: 3:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m., Monday–Thursday (plus Friday care options).

  • Preschool: 3:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. on full school days.

• Costs and fees:

  • Preschool: monthly, weekly, or drop-in rate options.

  • K–6 Friday care: daily fee ($15/day)

• Free option: K–6 after-school program is free for qualifying students through a partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters.

• Limitations: No after-school care provided on half-days or when school is not in session.

• Offers school-aged aftercare as part of its child care center.

• Focuses on enrichment through arts, music, dance, yoga and other creative classes.

• Provides a mobile/onsite enrichment program that travels to local schools or other locations/events.

• Emphasis on the whole child: building self-esteem, independence, social/emotional skills, physical awareness, and cognitive development through movement, story, art, and music.

• Integrates thematic / seasonal elements in classes (nature, seasonal cycles, mood of the seasons) with natural materials and creative movement.
